How to tell your business story through bespoke images

When it comes to storytelling through images one might wonder where do you even start, but that's exactly why it's good to have a framework for your story. A huge part of my client base are fitness professionals and I thought shedding light on the type of content we capture might be useful for anyone in the fitness industry and more broadly to other small business owners as well. The types of shots I describe below, which I'd usually capture during a personal branding shoot, work for a variety of businesses really!

Headshots

I know it sounds basic, but everyone needs a great headshot for their website ‘About me’ page or an intro post on Instagram.

Action shots

You doing what you do best! For fitness shoots this means capturing the exercises that you’d incorporate in your sessions and why not some that are part of your personal practice. What is also useful to think about is whether there are any upcoming classes, workshops or packages that you’d like to promote? If so, we could capture specific shots for these. The more targeted the purpose of the shot, the more useful it will be for you!

Interaction shots

Getting those in session shots when you’re training your clients really brings your service or offering to life, painting the portrait for potential clients of what they can expect from working with you.

Close Up Shots

Whether that’s of the equipment you use or of you setting up that zoom session, these could be great filler shots for either your website or social media to mix it up and add a bit of variety.

Establishing Shot

If you have your own studio or gym set up, why not get a couple of shots that bring to life where your clients will be training when they come to work out with you (Once lockdown is over of course!)

Hope this gives you ideas on the types of photos you could capture for your brand whether that's in one shoot or over a period of time :)
