More Than Just Business: Branding Photography with London Wedding Planner

I've recently had a few chats about branding photography and what you should capture during your session. The first thing that probably pops to people's mind is capturing photos of different sides of your business. That's totally fine!

But I encourage you to think broader! We're all multifaceted and branding photography lets us decide the sides we want to share with our audience.

So put on your roller skates, include your family or pets and show off your personality. Why not capture that shot for your dating profile you've always wanted. At the end of the day it's your time and your personal brand!

If I'm looking for a photographer, I might just pick a fellow cat lady over another tog just because I've seen them with their adorable cat on social media. And I'm secretly hoping that if I attend their home studio shoot I'll get to hang out with their pet!

What we set out to capture for Akilah's branding photography session?

Akilah got in touch with me to capture personal branding photography for her wedding planning business. I was super excited when I saw her meeting invite for a Discovery Call pop up in my inbox.

Akilah's an amazing wedding planner focussing on alternative and modern micro, elopement and intimate weddings in London. But she's also a mum of two wonderful young kids and sometimes works with her husband on her weddings. We set out to capture both sides!

How we picked the locations?

We made a plan to start the shoot at her home as the first location. This allowed us to include her family, a set of beautiful table scapes she puts together for the weddings she organises and portraits of her working away in her environment.

For the second location we picked her neighbourhood cafe, which is one of her favourite spots and also her go to co-working space. We captured a variety of portraits of her working away, planning client weddings and photos of her marketing materials. And even managed to get her favourite drink, a cup of hot chocolate, in a couple of the portraits!

How we approached the day?

Including Akilah's family in her photos made perfect sense for her brand as she works with brides about to get married. We were looking to embody the spirit of her wedding planning business, and Akilah’s warm home and wonderful little ones were such a natural way to bring that to life.

As your brand photographer my aim is to create a safe and relaxed environment where you can be 100% yourself. I'm there every step of the way to help you to bring your ideas to life (No idea is too silly!). It's your shoot - so you're completely in charge to choose what you want to share about you and your business.

Giving a glimpse into who you are as a person alongside your business during your brand photo shoot helps your audience connect with you, attract the right people and build trust.

Are you looking for a brand photographer to help you confidently show up online and tell your story?

Personal branding photography is exactly what it says on the tin - it's personal. It aims to show your personality and what you do through photos that look and feel like you. It's an invitation for your dream clients to get to know you a bit more, build trust and give them a glimpse into what it would be like to work with you.
